Test Results

Results were in. I don’t have anything in the sugar, cholesterol, kidney, liver, or thyroid departments. I lost a pound (217 baby!). I also got my ‘.’ so that confirms the not pregnant thing.

But I may have something called Polycystic Syndrome, which would explain my extremely irregular menses cycles. This PCOS is an endocrine disorder that causes long-term lack of ovulation (my ovaries don’t release their eggs), higher release of male hormones (damn), acne (no wonder! My face looks like a pizza nowadays), obesity (does this seem to be an end result for ANY medical problem related to women?), and infertility (I guess that’s why I haven’t gotten pregnant already even though I don’t use any sort of contraceptive), among other things.

This is nothing that can’t be fixed, of course. Important step, is to LOSE WEIGHT. If I lose the weight I may overcome the whole acne, hair growth, and male hormone bit (no wonder I can’t keep clean too… for the past 4 months or so, I kept changing deodorants ‘cause they just wouldn’t work!). Of course, I will also prevent getting hypertension, diabetes and all those other ugly stuff that can arise from being overweight. Fertility problems will be tackled when we become interested in having kids, but that’s far from now.

Soooooo I am still in my same mind-set.

Gotta lose weight. Gotta lose weight. Gotta lose weight.

Check-up

I’ve actually ‘played’ soccer twice… and by playing I mean kicking the ball back and forth, and trying to score between two bricks that I call goal. :D hehe. I end up very winded, so I call it exercise. ^_^

I went to the general doc about 2 weeks ago. Found out that I grew an inch (5’4” now) and that I weigh 218. I went mainly ‘cause I had not had my period for the past 3 months. It was worrisome, not because I could be pregnant, ‘cause I knew I wasn’t, but I needed to know if there was anything wrong with me so that I could be so imbalanced. I decided that after I got all tests back that I would then make an appointment with my gynecologist. Last week I got a letter that my results on the blood work were back, so hopefully I’ll be going tomorrow to find out how much cholesterol I’ve got. ~_~
